University of Johannesburg Bridging Course

The University of Johannesburg offers a few extended degrees options such as the Extended Bcom Degree. This is an option for candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements for a regular BCom degree at UJ. In this course, the degree is extended by one year, in which the student will have one year of ‘foundation courses’. The University of Johannesburg also offers various extended humanities degrees.

Management

  • National Diplomas: Human Resource Management, Logistics, Management, Small Business Management, Transportation Management
  • Bachelor of Commerce General

Engineering

  • National Diploma: Building, Metallurgy, Industrial, Mechanical, Management Services.
  • Bachelor of Engineering: B-Com Engineering, Electronical, Mechanical & Civil Engineering

Extended BCom (Economics and Econometrics) The minimum admission requirement for a bachelor’s degree is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by Umalusi, coupled with an achievement rating of 4 or better in four subjects from the designated 20-credit subject list. Bridging Programme in Economics This one year bridging program gives students the possibility to apply for an Honours Degree in Economics (General). If you wish to participate in the bridging program you will need to apply for this course. Applications must be done online. Advanced Diploma in Economics The entry requirements for the Advance Diploma in Economies are a Diploma, National Diploma or BTech with Economics as a major up to 3rd year level (with an average of 55% for Economics 3 AND an overall average of 55% for the relevant qualification AND a minimum APS score of 4 for Mathematics)….FULL REQUIREMENTS
